  • What was the most difficult goodbye you’ve ever had to say?
  • Read Genesis 13 1 – 18. If faced with a similar choice, would you have followed the example of Abram or of Lot?  Why?
  • How does this progressive movement toward Sodom dangerously affect Lot’s life? (v. 12)
  • Read Genesis 14: 13 – 16. What action does Abram take? How does this remind us of Jesus?
  • Read Genesis 14: 17 – 24. Abram accepts Melchizedek’s blessing and then tithes to him. Why?
  • Given the different way Abram treats the king of Salem and the king of Sodom, what does that tell you about Abram’s faith and character?  How does it compare to Lot’s?
